Little Greene Limewash
Little Greene Limewash is a very traditional exterior finish, used to decorate and protect porous stone and lime-rendered surfaces.
Like Distemper, Limewash is a breathable finish making it suitable for old and damp-problematic walls. Unlike paint, Limewash penetrates the surface, and the colour is built up by applying successive coats.

Applying Limewash
Limewash is a water based exterior finish, highly suitable for traditional building materials and renders, including lime plaster. It is easy to apply but will require four coats for full coverage.
If you’re reapplying Limewash to a coated surface, we recommend removing all loose and flaking limewash from the existing finish. Surfaces must be clean and grease free before applying Limewash paint in any colour.
When applying Limewash to brick or lime-rendered surfaces, we do not recommend using a roller or attempting to spray the finish. For the highest quality appearance, keep final brush strokes all in the same direction and never go over paint that has already begun to dry
This product is not suitable for non-porous stone or brickwork, such as granite, slate, common Fletton & engineering bricks. If you’re looking for limewash for wood or brick surfaces, we recommend exploring some of our other exterior paint finishes and masonry paint.
